Proposal For Sustainability Initiative In Key Biscayne Underway

The Village Council will hear more this fall about a proposal for a local engineer’s company to spearhead sustainability efforts on Key Biscayne.

Derek Duzoglou, founder of D Squared Engineering, spoke at the Council’s June 20 Budget Workshop to detail how his company could help the Village with sustainable development.

“If you take a look globally at what’s going on, we have a big issue – we’re outpacing our resources,” Duzoglou, who chaired the Village’s Green Committee several years ago, said. “It’s pretty scary to say the least. We need to take steps to help prepare us for the future.”
